We start our activity by taking a train to the Alpiglen station. From there, we hike up by the north face of the mythical Eiger on one side and enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Grindelwald on the other side. Although the original trail goes up to the Eigergletscher railway station, I suggest skipping the last part of the trail and heading to a man-made Fallbodensee lake, which serves as a reservoir for making artificial snow for surrounding ski pistes in winter. Benches in the water gives us a chance to refresh our feet and have a nice and well-deserved rest. A nice added bonus – a view of a glacier right in front. There is also a tiny museum that shows the different routes of ascent to the summit of mount Eiger. The descent to Kleine Scheidegg train station is less than 30 minutes hike from there, and then train will bring us back to Grindelwald. Contact us for reservations and more information. Starting point: Alpiglen, 1615m
